States: 63.1 as described.
63.2: from 1595L onwards the area behind "Scala Milliarum Leodiensis" receives stippling. In the "Scala Milliarum Leodiensis" the three number 7 have a curve in the downward stroke in the second state, while these 7's are straight in the first state. Previously, I thought this was a new plate which I called Ort64 see also below.
62.3: between 1603L and 1606E, "Semoy Fluv." was added in two places near the river in the upper right.
63.4: after 1612S, the text "Theodorus Galle excudit Antuerpiæ" was added at the bottom, left of the centrefold.

Cartographic sources: a manuscript map by Jan van Schille, which was also used by de Jode for his 1578 edition, and which was more closely represented in de Jode's 1593 edition (Meurer p. 231-232).

Remarks: Joe Walker has demonstrated that plate blemishes such as scratches and spurious dots occurring on Ort 63 also occurred on plate Ort 64. Therefore, the existence of a separate plate Ort 64 cannot be upheld. Walker has published his arguments in a monograph "The Maps of Ortelius and their Variants", Antiquarian Maps Research Monographs - 1, which can be obtained from him on request through Email Martran@msn.com
